I put this under fanart - books even though it's still being written. Should I put it under misc. instead?

Anyhoo, I love Ethan. If I was someone who had delusional fantasies about other people's characters, this would be the guy. Don't know why exactly, but he's got the two most attractive things I find in a real guy: extreme height and a penchant for academia. And who can resist blue hair and giant grabable ears? Not me.

Pose somewhat inspired by a scene from wip chapter 5, where Ethan pulls his sword on Cyrus. He's clothed though. Why does he not have his shirt on in my deviation? Because my reference didn't, and I'm not yet skilled enough to add fancy clothing to bare chested model stock. So shirtless it is.

I really tried to get the same expression as the model in the stock photo (really, lookie [link]), but when I was done I realized the expression I came up with looked familiar, and lo... perhaps a bit too much like this deviation: [link] which was unintentional. Dang it .

The sword was really hard. The character sheet only has it from the side, so I have no idea what it would look like staring down the barrel. So I made something up. And I hate drawing hands. So hard especially when the stock hand was covered up with the hilt guard. But I am very happy with how he came out, so if you don't like it, too bad.


Materials: 4B and 6B condensed black charcoal; 2B 4B and 6B black charcoal pencils; white charcoal pencil; Prismacolor Nupastels (14 different shades); ruler; pink pearl plastic eraser; kneaded rubber eraser; fingers for blending and smudging; Lava brand soap for clean-up. Work is unfixed and photographed. Colors true to original.
