This is my half of a collaboration with . I finally got it done!
She drew the lineart, which I printed out to use as a reference, and turned it into a reduction piece. Her version is here: [link]
This is the first time I have used my new pastels as well . I really like them, but I need to get used to them as well. They are so much lighter than the charcoal; it was hard to get them on thickly where I wanted them, but they blend beautifully.
I couldn't resist giving him green eyes, sorry. He's greed for goodness sake, and as an American, I always associate green with Money $$$. Plus I love green eyes and have always been utterly disappointed that I did not inherit my father's green eyes. Oh well. So no comment like "OMG you got the color of his eyes wrong". Yeah, I know. I also don't care
Materials: 2B, 4B, 6B condensed charcoal, Prismacolor Nupastels (about 10 different colors, blended), and my trustly kneaded eraser
Do I need to say again how much I love my kneaded eraser?
Time: 2 1/2 hours
Size: 11 x 14 inches
This one I fixed before I took the picture, because I felt the pastels would just smear like crazy if I didn't fix it right away. So you can see the texture of the fixative on the piece, especially in the black.
As an American I always correlate greed with the color green. Not that I dislike his purple eyes, but I just couldn't resist.
