Description
The Animal Kingdom's Tree of Life.
If you ever get the opportunity to go to the Animal Kingdom after dark, you must do so.
This is so maddeningly difficult to categorize. It's a giant fake tree. It's technically an oil rig. Did you know that? But it's also covered in carvings, so I'm torn between architecture - exterior and architecture - statues. Surreal might work as well.
Anyhoo, about once a week, if you are a resort guest, they have extra magic hours (3 extra hours) at the Animal Kingdom. If you are lucky, and the Animal is already open a bit later (it often closes at 5pm but during peak times may be open until *gasp* 8pm) you can tour the park after dark. None of the animal exhibits are open, but the rides are, and there's always one extra Festival of the Lion King. Mom and I stayed last trip just for FoLK. The line for Everest is usually nice and short as well.
Anyhoo, during our Christmas 2006 trip, we stayed late and I leisurely took pics. In fact, the main reason we even stayed was so I could take pictures.
How many animals can you spot?

Breathtaking. I'm hoping once Pandora opens, parts of the park will have night hours.
