Why Does the Caged Bird Sing?

This owl just broke my heart, in his small little cage. I hoped so badly that he got to spend more time in a bigger habitat than that little space.

It makes me so frustrated just to think that we find it necessary to cage animals for the purpose of saving them from ourselves. That if left in the wild, they would be in danger, or have already been in danger, and so find themselves at the Zoo. Columbus has such fine facilities, I doubt that this cage was the permanent habitat for this little guy.

I purposefully focused on the cage and not the bird, so no comments telling me the focus is off. It's supposed to look like that.

I think I will enter this in the contest over at Nature-Club. I haven;t entered any contests yet, but this one fits the Humans' Effect on Nature topic so well I might as well go for it.
