Disney-Parkhoppers Big Picture Contest - Last CallThe Big Picture Contest

Last call for entries! Voting will start on Monday the third, so if you want to enter get your entry in now!
Time for a new contest! This time we'll be looking for entries that show the Big Picture at the parks.
What does that mean? Well, it's the view you get when you step back. I've only been to Walt Disney World, and I often wonder about what things look like at the other parks. I've got a good idea of what individual attractions look like, but not how lands are laid out, or the order of parade floats, or how things fit into their surroundings. The gallery here is full of all the details, but not the big picture.

The Rules
1. Entries must showcase the Big Picture theme and be related to the parks in some way. We will reject close-ups or deviations that focus on one attraction/character/store/etc., so be sure your entry meets the contest's requirements.

100 Premiums Project (from `JoseFelipeM) For those of you who do not know, `JoseFelipeM is collecting 63,600 points in order to give 100 3-month premium memberships to other deviants this holiday season. The purpose is for you and other deviants to donate and spread the word and holiday cheer!

As part of Art History month for Stock and Resources we have interviewed the much loved `Dan-Heffer who was a Community Volunteer for the Stock and Resources Gallery in the past year. Dan creates a wide range of stock as well as general photographs and has given a bit of insight into his world.

Stock and Resources - how did you get into it and WHY?
I think somebody wanted a reference so i took one for them, then i got chatting in :#arstock: and there i found out how male stock wasn't as big and that there wasn't as much as female so started to contribute. The support grew and grew and yes! Thats pretty much it!

What's your favourite subject to shoot stock of?

Always people, because people allow for emotions and emotions make for the best stock!

How did you make the transition from stock photography to pure portrait work

DisneyDreamers Spooktacular Contest

Time for a new contest! This time we'll be looking for all things SPOOKY!

The Rules

1. Entries must showcase the theme "spooky" and be related to Disney in some way.

2. An entry must include at least one canon Disney character, place, or object.

3. Entries must adhere to the group's rules on gallery submissions. These can be found on the group's home page. If you have any questions, just ask on this journal or send the group a note.

4. Any type of Medium is welcome.

5. Entries must be new as of October 28th, 2012.

6. Send the club a note with the thumb or link of your entry. We will add it to the journal and send you an invite to the gallery. DO NOT submit your entry to the group's gallery yourself.

7. Entries are limited to two per person, one classified as "traditional" (traditional drawing media, photography with minor post processing, literature, sculpture, etc.) and one entry classified as "digital" (digital drawing media, photomanipulation, fractal art, mixed digital/traditional media, etc.). You may change your entry at any time before the contest closes.

8. All work must be your own. If you use stock images, they must come from the stock galleries on dA and be properly credited. Images found on Google, Photobucket, or any other image sharing site on the internet are NOT stock. Entries that include such images will not only be rejected but will be reported to dA for copyright infringement.

9. The contest will close on December 22nd.

10. We reserve the right to adjust the rules at any time. Members will be notified of any changes through this journal.

11. This contest is open to members of #disney-parkhoppers and #DisneyDreamers.

The Prizes

Everyone who enters will receive 1 group credit for participation.

First Place in each category (chosen by club vote) will receive 1000 dA points or 10 group credits.

Admin's Choices will receive 100 dA points or 5 group credits apiece.

All winners will receive a journal/news feature at #DisneyDreamers and be showcased on the group's home page.
